Enduro World Series 2013 - 1st Round in Bandite Trail Area.

Puntala and The Bandite Trail Area in association with I-mtb.com will host the first race of the Enduro World Series between May 18-19th, 2013.

To be the first location for the first Enduro World Series event, starting in 2013, is an exciting prospect. Below we have put together some information about the trail area to give a few clues to where the first World Series racing event will be held.

The trail area is right by the coast, with elevation changes of around 500 - 600 metres and more than 20 trails to choose from, the location couldn’t be better. The trails are pure Enduro trails with rocks, smooth sections, channels and some short climbs. Trail lengths coming in at around 3-4km depending on the trail. All the trails will test the best riders in the world, who incidentally have already ridden here…

Already used as a Superenduro location, some of  top gravity riders in the world today are already aware of the tracks, just alone in the last year Jerome Clementz, Andrea Bruno, Dan Atherton, Steve Peat, Greg Minnaar, Cedric Gracia, Ben Cruz, and many others have ridden the trails that will be used in the World Series event. Jerome below shows how to take a corner.

Race Trails
So what are the trails like that are likely to be used? Well we cant say for sure which ones will be used yet, but we can give you a 80 percent sure hint that these will be included.

Trail 44

This is a really fast trail, with some hard technical sections and flowing channel through the woods, with all types of surfaces, we are talking about a really cool trail.

30A (Rock - OH )
https://www.i-mtb.com/30a-the-pro-trail/

This is a tough trail that will punish all the riders that hit it at speed, intensive and long, but a lot of fun, this trail is rocky, fast and full of hundreds of corners and many different line choices. The fastest man on this track is currently Andrea Bruno, although Dan Atherton also did a good job on it and here you can see him riding the whole trail.

301 Tom’s Trail
https://www.i-mtb.com/301-toms-trail/

This is a fairly new trail that is twisty and fast in places. A lot of fun, not as rocky as the others but plenty to test riders especially if it is wet.

Trail 36
https://www.i-mtb.com/trail-36/

This trail is hard and fast and rock, worth learning the lines here to get through some tricky sections. Also with some amazing views near the finish, which is next to a castle.

Other Info

All these trails are the top candidates for the first round and are connected by some pretty good climbs that will have most of the riders enjoying being on the bike for the day. The great thing about the trail area in general terms is it’s ability to absorb the water. If it rains here the trails stay in great condition and don’t wash out. The soil has a great ability to absorb water and allow great riding in all conditions.

Learning lines is the key to riding all these trails and it will take a few goes to get it right. Over the next few months we will be publishing information on the trail area and the trails to be used in the race. Including some trail guides and hints and tips. Stay tuned and keep alert, there are only 4 1/2 months to go before the race season is upon us.
